IT infrastructure and server administration

In short

Servers, backups, access control and monitoring. I configure it, document it and hand it over so that it can be maintained, also without me.

When is it worth sorting out IT infrastructure?

  • Nobody knows whether the backups actually work.
  • The company server works, but nobody knows exactly how.
  • Several people share the same passwords.
  • You want to run tools or AI on your own hardware.

What you get

  • Backups with regular restore tests.
  • Access control: who has access to what.
  • Monitoring and alerts when something stops working.
  • An update plan.
  • Documentation the next person will understand.

What it looks like

A suggested process. We'll fit the details to the project. How I work

  1. 01Review

What works, where the data is, who has access to what.

  2. 02Plan

What to fix first to reduce the risk fastest.

  3. 03Implementation

    Backups, access, monitoring, updates.

  4. 04Documentation and handover

Documentation and a test restore from the backups.

How much does server administration cost?

The price depends on the number of servers and services, the state of the current setup and the scope of documentation. Ongoing care after the work is agreed separately.

Questions and answers

Don't see your question? Write to me.

How do I know the backups work?

The only reliable way is to regularly restore data from a backup as a test. I set this up as part of the routine, not a one-off check.

Does a company need its own server?

Not always. Your own server makes sense when data has to stay in the company or tools must run inside its network. Otherwise cloud services are often simpler.

What does monitoring give me?

You hear about a problem before users report it: a disk running out of space, a service that's down, a failed backup.

Does the documentation stay with the company?

Yes. I document the configuration so that someone else can maintain it.

Do you offer ongoing care?

We agree the scope of care after the work individually, depending on what the company needs.

What would you most like to improve?

Pick the closest one. It doesn't have to fit perfectly.
